I am getting closer to completing the first draft of the newest in the Theresa Maddux Adventures. I'm really excited about it. There's still a lot of work to do, but there's nothing quite as satisfying as finishing a first draft. I thought I would throw the first paragraph of the he Prologue out as a bit of a teaser. Enjoy. Comment if you like. I'd be interested to hear your thoughts.
"I am not a murderer. Wait, check that ok, because it almost
surely depends on who you ask. I’m not trying to be smug
about it, but there lies here an interpretation that, like beauty,
lives nowhere more prevalently than the eye of the beholder.
That’s not to say people haven’t died by my hand. They have.
If asked, I’d have to admit to killing more people than most.
But make no mistake, anyone I killed, I killed in self-defense,
someone coming at me with death lust in their eyes bound
to kill me first. Maybe the better way to say it is, I am not a
pre-meditated murderer.
Except him. Him, I did murder."
